The Coalition for Ethical Reporting on Palestine is committed to holding mainstream media accountable for its coverage of Palestine, while ensuring that Palestinian voices remain at the forefront of the fight for liberation. Our mission is to counter misinformation across all platforms—whether it originates from news outlets, social media, or Hollywood. We are deeply passionate about sharing Palestinian stories and celebrating Palestine’s rich and vibrant culture, which has long been repressed and misrepresented.
The dehumanization of Arabs, Palestinians, and Muslims in the media is no coincidence. It is the result of a deliberate effort by Zionist actors and their allies to ensure that the Western world views Palestinians as less deserving of life, liberty, and dignity. This dehumanization has allowed Israeli atrocities against Palestinians to appear more palatable to Western audiences. However, since Israel escalated its genocidal campaign against Palestinians in October 2023, there has been a profound shift in global public perception. Across the world, more people are recognizing Israel as the aggressor and colonizer of Palestinian and other Arab lands, including territories in Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt.
Despite this shift in public opinion, systemic repression and efforts to further dehumanize Palestinians remain pervasive. Now, more than ever, media accountability and accurate reporting are critical. As an organization, our goal is to reshape the narrative about Palestine—and, just as importantly, to reclaim it. We strive to center Palestinian voices by sharing our stories, poetry, and culture through events, social media campaigns, action alerts addressing media bias, and more.
